Nikki Layton and Barry Duncan have always pursued life at full speed. But they clearly know how to downshift.
This pair of Vancouver, British Columbia entrepreneurs ran three businesses ”” a fitness studio, a software company, and a real estate enterprise ”” before deciding to focus on travel and fun. After a couple of years of land-locked adventure, Nikki and Barry decided it was time to buy a boat. Today, they live full-time on their Leopard 42, S.V. Momentum 42, and spend much of their time cruising the Caribbean and the US East Coast.
The hour-long broadcast delivers useful advice and thought-provoking ideas for anyone interested in cruising, from those just considering the lifestyle to other current owners.
The couple discussed the transition and the months-long purchasing journey that brought them to the Leopard 42. In addition, Nikki and Barry explained why they opted to make certain after-market modifications to their Leopard 42, and answered questions from livestream participants. They also discuss Leopard 42 storage tips, how they prepare for longer trips, and even boating with their dog! “The front door on the Leopard is one of the reasons we chose the Leopard. It’s easy for our dog to go in and out.”
